GIA Origin Services
Know your diamond’s origin with the GIA Diamond Origin Program and GIA® Source Verification Service. Both offer peace-of-mind and confidence during the purchase process.
GIA Diamond Origin Program
This program uses scientific matching to link polished diamonds to diamond crystals of known origin, so that you know exactly where your diamond came from. When a diamond crystal of known origin is sent to GIA, GIA scientists document its characteristics. After the crystal is cut, our experts examine each polished diamond to determine if it matches the original crystal. If it does, the scientist then records the polished diamond’s country of origin.
Learn MoreGIA® Source Verification Service
This service will provide source information on where natural diamonds were mined and laboratory-grown diamonds were produced. It accomplishes this by leveraging existing processes based on third-party verified documents, including Kimberley Process certificates. This optional service will be offered at no additional cost.
Learn MoreGIA Laboratory-Grown Diamond Report
This fully digital report offers 4Cs quality information on laboratory-grown diamonds, including detailed color and clarity specifications. It also states diamond growth method (HPHT or CVD) and potential post-growth treatments, such as color enhancement. The LGDR by GIA is now also offered in a new Dossier format.
